Mount Union College Choir to Present Holiday Concert

The Mount Union Choir will present a Holiday Concert on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall, located in Cope Music Hall.


The musical program consists of six sections. They include pieces from such composers as Heinrich Shutz, Franz Josef Hayden, Randall Thompson and Hans Leo Hassler.

Featured soloists in the concert are Sarah Hutchins, a senior from Hewit, Texas; Krista McClarren, a senior from Alliance; Tiffany Bics, a junior from Columbia Station; P.J. Chavez, a senior from Massillon; Corey Clay, a junior from Uniontown; Jesse Davis, a senior from Pilesgrove, NJ; Beatrice Petzinger, a freshman from Poland; Kristen Dobish, a senior from New Wilmington, PA; Matthew Antonini, a junior from Fombell, PA and Daniel Felice, a senior from Macedonia.

The Mount Union Choir is among the nation's oldest collegiate choirs, tracing its roots to 1896. One of five choral organizations at Mount Union College, the Mount Union Choir is the College's premiere choral ensemble.

Chosen by competitive audition, the members of the Choir maintain a demanding schedule of daily rehearsals, regular sectionals, invitational concerts and concert tours.

The Mount Union Choir is under the direction of Dr. Scott W. Dorsey, associate professor, Department of Music chair and director of choral activities at Mount Union College.
