Mount Union College Choir Touring in Early 2003

The Mount Union College Choir will be touring throughout Ohio, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania in January, ending with a concert in Presser Recital Hall on January 12.
The 2003 Concert Tour features a six-part program, "Renaissance Beauty," "Three Marian Settings," "The Mystery of Faith," "Honor for Tradition," "Floating on American Water," and "Words as We Part."
The choir will be performing Tuesday, January 7 in Murphy Auditorium at Copeland Oaks in Sebring at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, January 8, they will be in Alexandria, Virginia, performing at the Fairlington United Methodist Church. On Tuesday, January 9, the choir will be performing at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick, Maryland. On January 10, the choir will be performing at First United Methodist Church of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and the following day, Saturday, January 11, they will be performing at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. On Sunday, January 12, the choir will be singing during morning worship at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The choir will then travel back to Mount Union College, where they will perform in Presser Recital Hall at 8 p.m.
The Mount Union Choir is the College's premiere choral ensemble. Founded in 1932, the choir has enjoyed an international reputation, performing and earning acclaim
in many nations including China, India, Malaysia, Norway and Turkey. The choir has been honored with a number of prestigious invitations, including concerts at the White House, for the American Choral Directors Association and performances before three separate global gatherings of the United Methodist Church. In addition to its active tour schedule, the choir also presents regular premieres of new choral works.
Chosen by competitive audition, the members of the choir maintain a demanding schedule of daily rehearsals, regular sectionals, and concert tour performances. The members of the Mount Union Choir represent virtually every major study area within the College.
Dr. Scott Dorsey is in his eighth year as the director of choral activities at Mount Union College, where he is also chairman of the department of music.
