Mount Union College Choir Touring Throughout Northeast Ohio in Early 2002

The Mount Union College Choir will be touring throughout Northeast Ohio in January, ending with a "Welcome Home" concert in Presser Recital Hall on January 13.
The 2002 Concert Tour features a six-part program, "Sounds of Yore," "Expressions in Legato," "Introspections of the Season," "Honor for Tradition," "Of Boys and Girls," and "Words as We Part."
The choir will be performing Thursday, January 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Ridgewood United Methodist Church, 6330 Ridge Road in Parma. Call (440) 885-1360 for more information. Friday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. the choir will be performing a concert at First United Methodist Church, 263 East Mill Street in Akron. For more information, call (330) 376-8143. On Saturday, January 12 the choir will perform at 8 p.m. at Chapel United Methodist Church, 2019 Hubbard Road in Madison. On Sunday, January 13, the choir will be singing during the worship service at Chapel United Methodist Church. At 8 p.m. that evening, the choir will perform a "Welcome Home" concert at Presser Recital Hall on the Mount Union College campus. The Mount Union Choir is the College's premiere choral ensemble. Founded in 1932, the choir has enjoyed an international reputation, performing and earning acclaim
in many nations including China, India, Malaysia, Norway and Turkey. The choir has been honored with a number of prestigious invitations, including concerts at the White House, for the American Choral Directors Association and performances before three separate global gatherings of the United Methodist Church. In addition to its active tour schedule, the choir also presents regular premieres of new choral works.
Chosen by competitive audition, the members of the choir maintain a demanding schedule of daily rehearsals, regular sectionals, and concert tour performances. The members of the Mount Union Choir represent virtually every major study area within the College.
