April 15, 2010

For the 16th consecutive year, Mount Union College has been ranked among the top 20 comprehensive colleges in the Midwest by the editors of 'U.S. News & World Report.'

This year, Mount Union was ranked 12th among the Midwest comprehensive colleges. The College also was ranked seventh in the 'Great Schools Great Values' section of the rankings.

To determine the rankings, 'U.S. News & World Report' tallied the results of surveys of college presidents, deans and admissions directors. These surveys, combined with educational data provided by the colleges themselves, resulted in the rankings. Colleges and universities were ranked according to: academic reputation, student selectivity, faculty resources, financial resources, retention rate and alumni giving.

'We are pleased that Mount Union College continues to be cited again by the editors of 'U.S. News & World Report,'' said Dr. Richard F. Giese, president of Mount Union College." 'While not perfect, these validate what many of us already know ' that Mount Union College provides its students with a high quality and valuable educational experience and that we are indeed a great school that offers great value.'
