Mount Union College Dance Team Provides Pre-Game Entertainment at Cleveland Cavs-New York Knicks Contest

April 15, 2010

For years, the Mount Union College Dance Team has been entertaining crowds during halftime of Mount Union men's and women's basketball games, but this week they had the opportunity to perform in a much bigger venue for a significantly larger crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena.

The 17 members of the Dance Team, including captains Kristy Palmeri, a senior biology major from Northfield Village and Lauren Klass, a junior psychology major from Berea, provided pre-game entertainment prior to Wednesday's Cleveland Cavs game vs. the New York Knicks.

'Lauren and I choreographed a three minute jazz hip-hop routine for the game," said Palmeri. 'It was so much fun to perform before the game. The members of the team were very excited.'

Although the stands of the Q weren't completely full at the time the Dance Team performed, there was a 'sea of purple' in the upper level cheering them on. Mount Union students, parents, faculty, staff and friends purchased tickets from Dance Team members prior to the game and filled an entire section.
