Mount Union College Department of Music to Present Repertory Strings Concert

The Repertory Strings will present a concert in Mount Union College's Presser Recital Hall, located in Cope Music Hall, on Wednesday, March'2 at 8 p.m.

The ensemble will perform Andante Cantabile from String Quartet No. 1, Op.11 in D major by Peter llich Tchaikovsky, Guitar (Mandolin) Concerto, Op. 59 in D Major by Antonio Vivaldi with soloist Dean Newton, guitar and Concerto Gross, Op.6, No. 1 in D major by Arcangelo Corelli.

Ruth A. Boden will be directing Repertory Strings in the absence of Dr. Elaine M. Anderson, assistant professor of music, who is on sabbatical this semester.

The Repertory Strings was founded in 1998 by Anderson,'who teaches cello, bass, chamber music, theory and music appreciation classes. She earned a doctorate of music degree in cello performance from the University of Alabama, a master of music degree in performance and theory from the Manhattan School of Music and a bachelor of music degree in string education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She has been a featured soloist with orchestras in Minnesota, Alabama, Ohio and South America.''
