Mount Union College Department of Theatre to Present ?Absent Friends?

April 15, 2010

The Mount Union College Department of Theatre will present 'Absent Friends' by Alan Ayckbourn on November 15, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. in Rodman Playhouse.

In 'Absent Friends,' friends arrange a tea party to comfort a friend, Colin, over the death of his fianc'e. They are understandably on edge wondering what to say to him as they had never met her. They are also all linked by a mixture of business and cross-marital emotional ties and, by the time Colin arrives for tea, their tenseness contrasts dramatically with his air of cheerful relaxation. His happiness and insensitive analysis of their trouble causes each to break down in his own way.

The cast includes junior David Jackson or Shaker Heights as Paul; junior Amanda Tweddell of Parma as Diana; senior Michael Vince of Wintersville as John; senior Katrina Hermetet of North Olmsted as Evelyn; senior Ben Drazil of Parma as Colin and junior Julia Chereson of Nova as Marge.

The Rodman Playhouse is located on the corner of Simpson Street and Union Avenue on the Mount Union College campus. Tickets are $10 for general admission. For more information or to order tickets, call (330) 821-2565.
