Mount Union College Dowling Mentor Program Honors Students

Mount Union College Dowling Mentor Program honored students from the College and Alliance City Schools recently.

Lorie Miller, director of the Mount Union College Dowling Mentor Program, and program founders Jack and Madge Peters presented Alliance High School seniors Marcus Adelman, Chris Bowman, Ali Clinton, Kristen Fox, Dustin Hawley and Miranda Petersberger with plaques honoring their participation in the project.

In addition to meeting on a regular basis for tutoring and special events, members of the program also perform community service projects. This year's projects included helping with the Rodman Library used book sale, wrapping gifts for the Salvation Army Wish Tree, a community Halloween Party, participating in Make a Difference Day at the Alliance Neighborhood Center, participating in the Dance Marathon held at Mount Union to benefit the Akron Children's Hospital Miracle Network, and working at the Alliance Neighborhood Shelter.
