Mount Union College Fire-Engine Choir to Perform in Presser Recital Hall

April 15, 2010

Mount Union College's "Fire-Engine" Choir, an ensemble with a repertoire spanning the serious to the silly, will perform Friday, April 2 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The choir will perform selections including "Heart of the Fugue," a light-hearted piece discussing the various parts of a fugue while they are being sung to the audience, "Rubber Duckie," the Bert and Ernie hit and "My Bonnie Lass, She Smelleth," a spoof of Thomas Morley's famed "My Bonnie Lass She Smileth."

The "Fire-Engine" Choir was developed in 1996 to meet the many requests received for performances by College singers in the Alliance area and northeast Ohio.

The members of the "Fire-Engine" Choir are full-time undergraduate students at Mount Union College.

The event is free and open to the public. For additional information, please contact the Department of Music at (330) 823-2180.
