Mount Union College Flute Choir to Perform at Dana Flute Festival

The Mount Union College Flute Choir will perform at the Dana Flute Festival at Youngstown State University on Saturday, April 6 at 3:15 p.m.


The Mount Union College Flute Choir is comprised of students who are music majors and also students from other areas of study. The group performs recitals regularly at Mount Union, as well as in area schools, clubs, retirement homes and churches. In addition, they are regular participants in the Central Ohio Flute Festival, the Northeast Ohio Flute Festival and the Dana Flute Festival.

The Flute Choir uses the traditional C flute, as well as piccolo, alto flute and bass flute. Additional instruments such as the harp, harpsichord, cello, piano, bass clarinet, percussion and electric bass participate with the Flute Choir on a regular basis. The group is under the direction of Robin Tryon, flute instructor at Mount Union College.

The Dana Flute Festival is held at Bliss Hall on the Youngstown State University campus. Admission to the flute festival is $12.
