Mount Union College Greek Week Festivities Planned
April 15, 2010
Mount Union College fraternities and sororities will hold an annual "Greek Week," beginning October 14. Participants include four national fraternities, four national sororities and one local sorority.
The activities for the week include a "Greeks in the Streets" event, during which the participants will be collecting canned food for distribution to local food pantries.
"The Greek community on Mount Union's campus believes that community service is an important component of "Greek Week," said Barbara Blue, a junior from Cuyahoga Falls and a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha. "The canned food drive is an opportunity for more fraternity and sorority members to make a contribution to support the community."
The Greek Box Derby will be held on Monday, October 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hartshorn Street and Miller Avenue. A Lip Sync contest will be held on Tuesday, October 15 at 7 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre. The Greek Olympics will be held Wednesday, October 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the College Quad. Greek Sing will be held on Thursday, October 17 at 9 p.m. in the Mount Union gymnasium, located in the Timken Physical Education Building.
