April 15, 2010

Mount Union College's Class of 1957 celebrated their 50th class reunion during Commencement Weekend, May 5-6, 2007.

The Class of 1957 had a chance to relive their Commencement ceremony by marching in the processional march at this year's Commencement.

'Nearly 50 alumni returned, including spouses,' said Anne Graffice, director of alumni and college activities and assistant to the President for special events. 'We hope that this new time of year and the exciting new events that were initiated this year will become a tradition for Mount Union 50th reunions in the future.'

Kicking off the events was a guided tour of the campus on Saturday, May 5, departing from the registration area at the Hoover-Price Campus Center (HPCC). A Golden Anniversary Luncheon for the Class of 1957 followed at the President's Home.

The day concluded with an alumni buffet in the Campus Grounds of the HPCC at 6 p.m. Classes from 1952-1962 joined in the fun and caught up with classmates and friends. A DJ played favorites from the 1950s and 1960s.

On Sunday, May 6, members of the Class of 1957 participated in the Commencement processional along with students, faculty and board members.

Following the Commencement ceremony, a reception was held in the quad area under tents.
