May 26, 2010

The Mount Union College Office of Service Learning and Community Service recently hosted a free family picnic in honor of National Neighborhood Day.

Aiding in this effort were 50 Mount Union student volunteers from various organizations including First Year Experience (FYE), LS 100 classes, APO service fraternity and M3C Fellowship in collaboration with Northside Elementary School Principal Buddy Gasparik.

Throughout the afternoon families enjoyed arts and crafts, food, games and face paintings.

Amanda Espenschied-Reilly, director of Service Learning and Community Service was very pleased with the way things turned out.

'It was a very happy and exciting day with over 150 guests in attendance,' she said. 'Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to making it even better next year.'
