Mount Union College Plans Parents' Day Festivities

Mount Union College will hold the annual Parents' Day and Legacy Luncheon on Saturday, November 16.
The theme of Parents' Day is "The Wonderful World of Mount Union College." Check-in will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Campus Grounds in the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Complimentary refreshments will be available at check-in, and ticket pick-up will be available for those who have ordered in advance for various events. Participants are invited to enjoy coffee and conversation with members of the faculty and staff in the Campus Grounds from 8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
Two informational sessions will be presented for parents. At 9:15 a.m. in the Campus Grounds, Dr. Annette Cryder, director of counseling services, will present "Navigating a Sea of Change." This will be a group discussion on how families change when children go to college, with information on how to approach reunions on weekends
and breaks. At 10 a.m. in the Campus Grounds, Tiffani King, assistant director of the academic support center, will present "The Final Countdown." This session will address what students need to accomplish before the final exam period begins and what role parents can play in helping students stay focused academically through their final exams.
Parents and students will have the opportunity to have free caricature drawings in the Hoover-Price Campus Center lobby.
A tailgate party will start at 11:30 a.m. in the Kresge Dining Commons in the Hoover-Price Campus Center.
The annual Legacy Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Hoover-Price Campus Center. The luncheon is hosted by the Alumni Association and is for alumni and their children who are current students at the College.
At 1:30 p.m., the Mount Union Purple Raiders football team will take on Wilmington College in Mount Union Stadium.
There will be a post-game reception after the football game in the Campus Grounds of the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Refreshments will be provided by the Alumni Office and entertainment will be provided by the Kool Nights Band of Alliance, sponsored by the Office of Student Activities.
