Mount Union College Requesting Nominations for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award

Mount Union College is asking Alliance community members to submit nominations for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Award.

On January 15, 2007, Mount Union College will be presenting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Award during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day convocation. Each year the College presents the award to an Alliance community resident who best embodies the values and principles exemplified by Dr. King.

Individuals as well as organizations may submit a nomination by writing a letter about why the nominee should receive this prestigious honor. Selection is based on the following: promotion of racial harmony; advocating social justice; collaboration with groups, offices, churches and/or organizations; demonstration of sustained commitment to diversity and fostering inclusiveness and appreciation of differences.

All letters of nomination should be sent to Melissa Scott, Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Mount Union College, 1972 Clark Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601. Letters should be mailed no later than Friday, December 1, 2006.
