Mount Union College Student Groups Sponsor Program "Journey to a Hate Free Millennium"

Twenty Mount Union College student groups have joined together to bring "Journey to a Hate Free Millennium" to campus, Wednesday, November 28 at 7 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre.
"Journey to a Hate Free Millennium" is an award-winning documentary that seeks solutions to hate crimes. Produced by the non-profit organization, New Light Media, the powerful film focuses on three recent hate crimes straight from the headlines: the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Wyoming; the death of James Byrd, Jr., an African-American man in Texas; and the shootings at Columbine High School. The film includes interviews with Matthew Shepard's parents, the family of James Byrd, Jr., family and classmates of Columbine High School victims and celebrities such as Elton John.
Financial contributors to the event include Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Tau Omega, Alpha Xi Delta, Association of Women Students, Black Student Union, D.I.S.C., Inter-Fraternity Council, Kappa Kappa Psi, Sigma Nu, Student Activities Council and Student Senate. Student groups providing organizational support include Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Association of International Students, Delta Sigma Tau, GABLE, Multi-Cultural Affairs, Panhellenic Council, Phi Kappa Tau and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
