Mount Union College Students Receive ECC Student Literary Competition Awards

John Gallo, a sophomore English - literature major at Mount Union College, was awarded second place in the creative nonfiction division of the East Central College's Sixteenth Annual Student Literary Competition.

Gallo, who is from Lisbon, received the award for 'The Fundamental Things Apply.' He was also awarded an Honorable Mention for his poem entitled 'Kathleen.'

Jennifer Casne, a senior Japanese major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania received an Honorable Mention for her fiction short story entitled 'Strong One.'

Submissions were received from Bethany College, Hiram College, Marietta College, Mount Union College, Muskingum College, Otterbein College, West Virginia Wesleyan College and Westminster College. Entries were judged anonymously by an ECC faculty team.
