Mount Union College to Hold Homecoming Weekend

Mount Union College will host its annual Homecoming Weekend beginning Saturday, October 1. The day is packed full of activities that whole families can enjoy.
Homecoming kicks off at 9 a.m. with Mount Union's 22nd annual Run-a-MUC 5K Race. Registration for the race begins at 7:30 a.m. Following the 5K race, children ages 7 and under can participate in the Kid's Race which includes one lap around Mount Union's track. Each participant in the Kid's Race will win a prize.
The National Cabinet of Mount Union Women will host a gathering at 9:30 a.m. in the Alumni Room of the Hoover Price Campus Center. The Alumni Swim and Diving Reunion Meet will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Timken Pool. Alumni pictures will be taken at 9:45 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m. family and friends are invited to the Kresge Dining Commons located in the Hoover Price CampusCenter for a pre-game brunch. Tickets will be available at the door. Adults are $6 and children under 12 are $4. The Homecoming Parade will step off from the HPCC parking lot at 11 a.m.
There will be a dedication ceremony for the new Sigma Nu house at 11 a.m. followed by an open house and guided tours from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Other sorority and fraternity open houses will be held after the game.
After the morning festivities, come on out to Mount Union Stadium and watch as Mount Union's football team, the Purple Raiders, take on Capital's Crusaders. The game kicks off at 1:30 p.m. For ticket information call 330-821-6759. There will be a post-football game reception in Campus Grounds.
Following the game, alumni class reunions for the classes of 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000 are invited to Buffalo Wild Wings located at 2642 West State St. for great food and fun. The Black Student Union will host an open house from 3-5 p.m. in the BlackCulturalCenter located at 243 Simpson St.. The men's soccer team will host Heidelberg in Mount Union Stadium at 7 p.m., so come and cheer on the team.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, October 2 with an alumni baseball game. The game starts at 1 p.m. at the 23rd St. Field.
