ALLIANCE, Ohio - Alexandra Forter and Lauren Schiff will present "Images of My Life," a photography exhibit created by child laborers on Thursday, February 8, at Mount Union College's Presser Recital Hall.

The project began as a collaborative effort between children and ASAPROSAR, a non-profit organization working in Santa Ana, El Salvador.

"The basis for the project has always been a decided belief in these children's capacity for analysis and expression of their own daily situation," said Forter and Schiff in a written statement.

"By giving disposable cameras to the children," they continued, "they overcome their invisibility in the greater community by creating images of their lives."

The two cite three objectives of the project in the United States.

The first is to raise public awareness of the situation of child laborers in El Salvador and stories created by child laborers.

Secondly, they wish to provide a forum to discuss the construction of international and universal policies as well as successful social service.

Finally, the want to raise funds to support the Barefoot Angels program, which provides educational, psychological, and social support to the children who participated in this project.
