The beginning of the 2005-2006 Academic Year at Mount Union College is now underway with a flurry of student activity on campus in the midst of the first day fall semester classes.

New students, numbering 560, unpacked their bags on campus last Thursday and participated in a host of events that were part of 2005 Fall Orientation. Returning students filtered in during the weekend in preparation for the start of classes.

To welcome all new and returning students to campus, the Student Activities Council is hosting its annual "Week of Welcome" celebration. Comedian Kevin Bozeman will kick-off the week-long schedule of events tonight at 9 p.m. in the Campus Grounds.

The Bob Guiney Band will make a campus appearance on Tuesday, August 30 at 9 p.m. in Campus Grounds and a number of outdoor games will be played in the Quad on Wednesday, August 31 to introduce students to this "special place on campus."

The Great College Drive-in Movie, featuring "Without a Paddle," will wrap up the Week of Welcome events on Thursday, September 1. The movie will begin at 9 p.m. in the Quad.
