Mount Union Department of Music to Present Combined Concert

The Mount Union College Department of Music will present a Chamber Music Recital featuring the Flute Choir, Trumpet and Woodwind Ensembles on Tuesday, April 18 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.


Faculty members of the Department of Music that will be directing include Robin Tryon, Flute Choir, Betty Shultz, Woodwind Ensemble and R. Christopher Hall, Trumpet Ensemble. Kathy Reichenberger will be the faculty accompanist. Shultz will also be performing on oboe.

The concert will feature a wide variety of works from Gabriel Faur' and Franz Joseph Hadyn to Scott Joplin and George Gershwin.

Feature performers include clarinetists senior ConnieMarie Whitehouse of Mentor, freshman Allison Flach of Painesville and freshman Thomas Tully of Lynx; sophomore bassoonist Thomas James of Seville; flutists freshman Jennifer Crowl of Columbiana, freshman Suzanne Dean of Olmsted Falls, freshman Jessica DeWitt of Loudonville, sophomore Natalie Firth of Salem, senior Lisa Marano of Uniontown, freshman Kayla Moles of Canal Fulton and sophomore Brittany Maxwell of Loudonville; trumpet players freshman Andrew Clutter of Salem, junior Elizabeth Serensky of Hanoverton and sophomore Justin Shaub of North Canton; and junior Kelly M. J. Andrews of North Canton and senior Candace Orth of Akron on trumpet and flugelhorn.

Presser Recital Hall is located in Cope Music Hall on the corner of Union Avenue and Simpson Street.
