Mount Union Department of Theatre Presents "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams

The Mount Union College Department of Theatre will present "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams on Thursday October 2 through Saturday, October 4 at 8 p.m. in the Rodman Playhouse located in Cope Music Hall.

The play, set during the great depression in St. Louis, is centered on the Wingfield family. The main characters are Tom Wingfield, the narrator, Amanda, his mother and his sister Laura. Each character tries to escape the harsh realities of their daily lives by living in a fantasy world. Laura has a physical disability; Amanda escapes her current situation by remembering her days as a southern belle while Tom makes constant trips to the movies.

Freshman Billy Earnhart of Macedonia has the role of Tom, junior Savannah Rhodes of Alliance has the role of Amanda, junior Rayna Middleton of Canton has the role of Laura and junior Dylan Barnes of Allison Park, Pennsylvania has the role of Jim. The play is directed by Dr. Doug Hendel, professor of theatre.
