Mount Union Faculty Member to Appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show
April 22, 2010
Cenell Munford Clark, assistant professor of human performance and sport management at Mount Union College, will appear on tomorrow's (Thursday, November 8) episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, receiving a makeover that offers tips on looking great at any age.
Munford Clark was one of a number of audience members who were offered the opportunity to receive a makeover that promised to take years off their looks, illustrating how women can incorporate elements of current styles and trends whether in their 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s.
'I was selected as the individual to receive a '30s' makeover,' said Munford Clark. 'It was very exciting. As an athletic trainer, my typical wardrobe consists of gym pants and my hair is usually in a ponytail. As Oprah told us on the show, you should feel empowered by what you wear.'
Munford Clark was quick to point out, though, that there was so much more behind the experience than just the hair, make-up and clothes.
'I really felt empowered during this experience ' in an amazing way,' she added. 'Teaching my students how to be well and empowered is important to me and that is exactly how I felt during this experience.'
Munford Clark earned a bachelor of arts degree from Mount Union in 1993 and a master of science degree from the University of Akron. She has been a member of the faculty at Mount Union since 2001.
