Mount Union Flute Choir and Trombone Ensembles Join YSU Trombone Ensemble To Present Concert

The Mount Union College Flute Choir and The Mount Union and Youngstown State University-Dana School of Music Trombone Ensembles will present a concert Tuesday, December 2 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall, located in Cope Music Hall.

 

The Mount Union Trombone Choir performance will include "Intrada," by Johann Christoph Pezel and arranged by Kurt Sturzenegger; "Sonate," by Daniel Speer and arranged by Kurt Sturzenegger; "Stardust," by Hoagy Carmichael and arranged by Robert Hughes; "Quatre Petites Prieres de Saint Francois D' Assise," by Francis Poulemc and "Fanfare for Trombones," by Andrew C. Fox. The ensemble is conducted by John Olsson, private music instructor at Mount Union.

The Mount Union Flute Choir performance will include "Deck the Halls," arranged by James McKelvy; "Contrapunctus III," by J.S. Bach and arranged by Bruce R. Smith; "Grandpa's Fiddle," by Leslie Gilkey; "Journey Home," by Melvin Lauf and "The Night Before Christmas," by Sonny Burnette. The flute choir is under the direction of Robin Tryon, private music instructor at Mount Union.

The Youngstown State University-Dana School of Music ensemble concert will include "Salvation is Created," arranged by Randy Bibri; "Pure Imagination," arranged by Michael Boscarino; "Someone to Watch Over Me," by George Gershwin and arranged by Gillis/Willis and "English Dance," arranged by Rob Traugh. The Youngstown State University ensemble is conducted by John Olsson.

The Mount Union and Youngstown State-Dana School of Music trombone ensembles combined performance will include "Celebration 2001 in memory of Bryon McCulloh," by Walter Hartley; "Nessun Dorma," by Giacomo Puccini; "Prelude in Eb Minor," by Dimitri Shostakovich and arranged by Richard Myers; "We Three Kings of Orient Are," by J.H. Hopkins and arranged by Tommy Pederson; "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen," arranged by Tommy Pederson; "Jesu, Bambino," arranged by R. Miller & J. Erdman; "Good Christian Men, Rejoice," arranged by R. Miller & J. Erdman and "Deck The Halls," arranged by Tommy Pederson.
