MOUNT UNION FOOTBALL RECOGNITION RALLY PLANNED

Alliance, Ohio - The Raider Football Recognition Rally honoring the 2000 National Champions has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 31 in Mount Union College's Hoover-Price Campus Center.

Conditioning & warm up will begin between 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. with a player autograph session, giveaways, displays and refreshments.

Kick-off takes place at 6:30 p.m. as Joe Tait, the Raider television voice and radio voice of the Cleveland Cavs, acting as the master of ceremonies.

Calling the signals will be Dr. Jack Ewing, president of the College, Toni Middleton, mayor of Alliance, Sam Donohoe, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Purple Raider team captains, and Larry Kehres, Mount Union head football coach.

The evening will conclude with the unveiling of the 2000 highlight video - "Unfinished Business."

Mount Union's football team (14-0 in '00) won an unprecedented fifth Division III National Championship this past season. The Purple Raiders have now won 68 of their last 69 games played.

The Raiders open the 2001 season at home against Allegheny College on Saturday, Sept. 1.
