Mount Union Handbell Choir to Present Spring Ring April 24

The Mount Union College Handbell Choir will be presenting a Spring Ring in the Myers Sanctuary of Dewald Chapel on Monday, April. 24 at 8 p.m.


The newly-reactivated four-octave Handbell Choir is under the director of Christine Allison, adjunct professor of music. Allison, a 1976 Mount Union graduate, is the director of music for the Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church in Canton.

The program will open with 'Welcome' by Natalie Dubinsky followed by 'Morning Has Broken' arranged by Arnold B. Sherman; 'Great is the Lord' arranged by Douglas E. Wagner; 'Kum Ba Yah' arranged by John R. Wilson; 'Variations on a Theme by Brahms' arranged by Michael Helman; 'Meditation on 'Beautiful Savior'' arranged by Cathy Moklebust; 'Joyful, Joyful!' arranged by Valerie W. Stephenson and conclude with 'Fantasy on 'Hyfrydol'' arranged by Hal H. Hopson.

Members of the Mount Union Handbell Choir include Laura Jurasko, a freshman of Mingo Junction; Maria Oblak, a sophomore of Rome; Laura Duff, a senior of Zanesville; ConnieMarie Whitehouse, a senior of Mentor; Jennifer Schlairet, a sophomore of Mount Vernon; Megan Duncan, a junior of East Palestine; Katie Weaver, a senior of Perry; Natalie Dubinsky, a senior of Rootstown; Jackie Kurtz, a junior of Hudson; Candace Orth, a senior of Akron and Elizabeth Lieder, a freshman of Salem.
