Mount Union Hires New Campus Security Supervisor

 Mount Union College has named Keane Toney as campus security supervisor.

Toney served as a deputy with the Geauga County Sheriff's Department for 12 years and spent 15 years with the Canton Police Department during which time he was promoted to sergeant and worked in the Patrol Division, the Detective Bureau and the Criminal Intelligence/Vice Unit. Toney is a certified instructor with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and has been employed as a trainer at Traynor's Police Academy, where he was also school commander.

Toney has an associate's degree in police science from the University of Akron and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Charter Oak State College. He earned a master's degree in criminal justice administration from Andrew Jackson University, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the August Vollmer Criminal Justice Award from that institution. Toney is currently completing coursework toward a doctorate in business administration with an emphasis on criminal justice from North Central University.
