Mount Union Holds Annual Greek Awards

Seniors Miranda Weller of Massillon and Ian Andrews of Warren were named Greek Woman and Man of the Year at Mount Union College's annual Greek Awards Ceremony, held April 21 in the Mount Union Theatre.

Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon received the Silver Chapter Excellence Award. Alpha Delta Pi and Delta Sigma Tau received the Bronze Chapter Excellence Award.

Marian Knipfer, advisor to Alpha Xi Delta, received the Advisor of the Year Award. Katherine Burras of Conneaut and Mark Heltzel of Cochranton, PA received the Fraternal Values Award.

The Highest Chapter GPA Award went to Alpha Delta Pi and Phi Kappa Tau. Alpha Sigma Alpha and Phi Kappa Tau received the Most Improved Chapter GPA Award. The Highest New Member Class GPA Award went to Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

The Campus and Community Service Award went to Alpha Chi Omega and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. This award recognizes a fraternity and sorority for hands-on service to Mount Union College and the Alliance community.

Alpha Chi Omega and Sigma Alpha Epsilon won the Chapter Programming Award, which recognizes a fraternity and sorority for outstanding programming within the chapter and the Greek community during the past year. The Campus Leadership and
Involvement Award went to Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. This award recognizes the fraternity and sorority whose members have been most involved outside of their own chapter.

The Recruitment Excellence Award, which recognizes a fraternity and sorority that demonstrate creative and effective recruiting techniques, went to Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Sigma Tau and Sigma Alpha Epsilon won the New Member Education Award. The Risk Management Award was awarded to Alpha Chi Omega and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. This award is given to a fraternity and sorority that demonstrate superior education and risk management policies and procedures.
