May 25, 2010
On January 19, 2009, Mount Union will be presenting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Award during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day luncheon. Each year the College presents the award to an Alliance community resident who best embodies the values and principles exemplified by Dr. King.
Individuals as well as organizations may submit a nomination about why the nominee should receive this prestigious honor. Selection is based on promotion of racial harmony; advocating social justice; collaboration with groups, offices, churches and/or organizations; demonstration of sustained commitment to diversity and fostering inclusiveness and appreciation of differences.
Nominations for this award are due by January 9 and should be directed to the attention of Debbie Fink, secretary for the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Mount Union College, 1972 Clark Avenue, Alliance, OH 44601, firstname.lastname@example.org or (330) 823-7288.
