Best Colleges

This year, Mount Union was ranked 8th among regional colleges in the Midwest, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin, by U.S. News and World Report. This was the 25th consecutive year that Mount Union has appeared in this annual listing of the best colleges and universities.

Furthermore, Mount Union was recognized among “A+ Schools for B Students” in the Regional Colleges category by U.S. News and World Report.

Mount Union was also ranked among the top four-year, accredited private and public colleges and universities nationally by Forbes.

The University's Integrative Core has been cited by for having one of the top integrative studies programs in the nation, securing the 11th spot in the current rankings, which highlights the institution’s Integrative Studies Program.

Community Service

Mount Union was ranked among the top 35 baccalaureate colleges and universities in the nation in Washington Monthly’s 2015 rankings, which rates institutions based upon their contribution to public good.

Return on Investment

Mount Union has been cited as one of the Best Colleges for the Money by, ranking in the top 7% in the nation and in the #7 spot among school in the state of Ohio.

Mount Union was ranked in Washington Monthly’s “Best Bang for the Buck” listing in the Midwest category. According to the organization’s website, rating was based on “net” (not sticker) price, how well they do graduating the students they admit and whether those students earn enough, after graduation, to pay off their college loans.

The University has been cited among the top schools in the nation who do the best job of improving the earnings and attainment of quality employment of their students by Educate to Career.

Mount Union received a silver rating from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS).

The University has been cited for four consecutive years with Tree Campus USA recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of the institution’s commitment to effective community forestry management.


Mount Union finished 17th in the nation in the final 2014-2015 Learfield Sports Directors Cup NCAA Division III standings as the highest ranked NCAA Division III institution in Ohio.
