Mount Union Preparatory Division Presents Accompanying Musicale

April 27, 2010

On Friday, June 16, Mount Union College Preparatory Division will present an Accompanying Musicale in Presser Recital Hall at 7 p.m.

These piano students, ranging in age from six to seventeen, become accompanists during the summer session. Their assignment is to choose a selection, find a soloist and rehearse with that soloist in preparation for the musicale.

Some students prefer serious selections while others take a more humorous approach. Parents, relatives and friends find themselves on stage while the pianists learn the art of accompanying. In an age where looking out for someone else might be unique, the pianists strive to do just that with their keyboard skills.

A reception will be held in the lobby for all audience members and performers following the musicale. The event is free and open to the public.

Presser Recital is located within Cope Music Hall on the corner of Vincent Blvd. and Union Ave. For more information, contact the Department of Music at (330) 823-2180.
