ALLIANCE, Ohio—The University of Mount Union will host Alumni Weekend and Homecoming Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30.

The weekend will feature events for Purple Raiders of all ages all weekend long.

The band reunion will kick off the weekend’s events on Friday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. in Cope Music Hall. Band alumni are invited to campus to meet with old classmates and perform with the current marching band during the football pre-game show Saturday.

Saturday’s events begin with the 34th annual 5K Run-A-MUC at 8 a.m. in front of the MAAC, with race day check-in beginning at 6:30 a.m. in the MAAC lobby. Participants must read and agree to the waiver on the registration form to participate, and pre-register by September 22 to receive a t-shirt. Immediately following Run-a-MUC, a Kids Race for children 10 and under will take place. The race consists of one lap around the track and pre-registration is required to ensure everyone receives a prize.

The Alumni Brunch, an annual event honoring Alumni Award-winners, will take place in the King Hall parking lot tent from 9:30 - 11 a.m. The event is open to the public but requires registration and a pre-purchased ticket. Cost is $12 for adults (ages 10 and up) and $5 for children (ages 2-9). Tickets can be purchased by calling (330) 823-2030.

For those bringing kids, bring them by MUcaw Fun Zone in the quad from 11 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. for a bounce house, balloon art, pumpkin painting, ice cream truck and more.

The Mount Union football team will kick off against Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Ohio Northern at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Union Stadium. Game tickets will be available 90 minutes before game time and can be purchased at any gate for $10.

Several reunions and gatherings will take place before and after the football game. Beginning at 11 a.m., the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s reunion will be held in the Newbold Room in the Hoover-Price Campus Center, while the alumni swim meet and cookout and the wrestling alumni and parent cookout will take place on the South lawn of Chapman Hall and the Gulling Training Center parking lot, respectively.

Members of the 1977, 1992 and 2012 graduating classes will have reunions taking place at various locations beginning at 4 p.m. Post-game gatherings for all alumni will take place at Buffalo Wild Wings, Chives Grille and the Neighborhood Inn after 3:30 p.m. Free shuttle service is available until midnight.

Other activities taking place throughout the day include Greek Life Open Houses, self-led tours of campus, a photo booth, food trucks and entertainment provided by the A.C. Jones Band featuring alumna Amanda Myhal ’15.

The Alumni Weekend Headquarters will be open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; visitors can pick up a schedule of events, update their contact information and purchase an Alumni Weekend T-shirt for $10.
