Mount Union Presents Baroque Flute and Harpsichord Performance

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Guest artists Janet Becker and Mary Ragna Yetter will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 in Presser Recital Hall of Cope Music Hall at the University of Mount Union.
Becker will perform on the baroque flute and Yetter will perform on the harpsichord. They will perform a variety of pieces from famous composers such as Leonardo Vinci, Johann Sebastian Bach and James Oswald.
Becker received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master of Music degree from The University of Akron and a Doctor of Music degree from Northwestern University. She has performed with the Watercolors Trio, the Melodia Chamber, Buckeye Baroque and the Emerald Winds Woodwind Quintet. In addition, Becker has taught music at The University of Akron, Malone College, The Cleveland Institute of Music and The Cleveland Music School Settlement. Currently, Becker teaches students in her studio, The Greenwich Art Studio in Norton, Ohio.
Yetter earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, a Certificate of Advanced Study from the Royal College of Music in London, England and a Master of Music degree from the University of Memphis. She has served as organist and choir director of churches in Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Ireland and England. Currently she is an organist at Kent United Methodist Church and the Dean of the Akron chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
