Mount Union Ranked by Washington Monthly
September 18, 2012
According to Washington Monthly’s website, schools are rated based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research and service.
“This ranking truly reflects our mission to prepare students for fulfilling lives, meaningful work and responsible citizenship,” said Dr. Richard F. Giese, president of the University. “Mount Union puts forward exceptional efforts in service-learning and community service and we are always striving to expand opportunities for student and faculty research as defined in our strategic plan. This ranking recognizes us for our recent successes and also highlights the steps we are taking for the future of the University. We are extremely honored to be recognized by Washington Monthly.”
Mount Union has consistently fared well in national rankings, appearing in U.S. News and World Report’s annual listing of the best colleges and universities for 21 consecutive years. The University also has been recently cited by Forbes and The Princeton Review’s Green Guide, in addition to garnering other national recognitions.
