Mount Union Seeks Volunteers to help Clean Up Alliance Parks

April 10, 2017

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union’s Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement is seeking community volunteers for annual Kiwanis One Day service project helping to clean up Alliance area parks from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.

Each year, Mount Union partners with the local Kiwanis club to spend a day working at Alliance Parks. This year, a grant from Serve Ohio in honor of Global Youth Service Day will help student volunteers from Mount Union and other surrounding schools to stain the new pavilion at Maple Beach Park. Volunteers will be provided with lunch.  Please register here.

Additionally, in celebration of Earth Day, the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center will host a trail clean up from 1 – 3 p.m. with a workshop on making seed starting pots from 2 - 4 p.m. that same afternoon. The workshop will be hosted by the Green Raiders and there will bEARTHday cake for all who participate.

Questions or concerns should be directed to Abby Honaker by email at or via text at 330-204-4663.
