Mount Union Student Receives Kappa Delta Pi Distinguished Chapter Officer Award

Amanda Leigh, a senior middle childhood education major from Avon recently received the Distinguished Chapter Officer Award from Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), an international honor society in education.

This award is the highest honor that KDP presents to its officers. To earn this distinction, Leigh successfully met the criteria for excellence in leadership, involvement in the chapter’s activities, positive relationships with fellow officers and enthusiasm for the society’s mission and values. She will receive this award at the KDP convocation on October 29-31 in Orlando, FL. 

Aside from being a member of KDP, Leigh is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Phi Omega, the Student National Education Association and the National Science Teacher Association.

The international honor society in education, Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 and promotes excellence in and recognizes outstanding contributions to education. Members of KDP exemplify worthy education ideals, express an intention of continuing in the field of education and show evidence of leadership abilities.
