MOUNT UNION STUDENTS DANCE FOR A GOOD CAUSE

June 02, 2010

ALLIANCE, Ohio - On March 31 in the Timken Gymnasium, Mount Union College students will be "dancing today for a better tomorrow."

That's the theme for the Second Annual Mount Union College Dance Marathon. Students from the college will dance from noon to midnight to raise money for the Akron Children's Hospital's Children's Miracle Network (CMN).

Teams of five to ten students will be formed and dancers are required to be dancing at all times. Through sponsorships and donations by friends, faculty and others of the campus and local communities, each dancer is asked to raise $100 with hopes of reaching an overall goal of $5,000 this Dance Marathon 2001.

Activities will be held throughout the day, such as dance competitions, karaoke contests, banner contests, penny drives and donation contests. In addition, live band and dance performances will be offered.

Among those attending the Dance Marathon will be the families of some of the children who benefit from the Children's Miracle Network who will speak about how CMN has helped them with their medical problems.
