Mount Union Students Participate in the 2006 Mock Trial Regional Tournament

The students of Mount Union College's Seminar in Political Science and Law class competed in the 2006 Mock Trial Mideast Regional Tournament hosted by Notre Dame University (Indiana) on February 24-26.

 

The students of Mount Union College's Seminar in Political Science and Law class competed in the 2006 Mock Trial Mideast Regional Tournament hosted by Notre Dame University (Indiana) on February 24-26.

Twenty students participated in the event with three teams comprised of six to seven students each.

Individually, Mount Union seniors Beth Bonanno of Canfield won an Outstanding Witness Award for the defense and John Highman of Canton won an Outstanding Witness Award for the defense.

'All three teams were thoroughly prepared for the competition,' said Angela Smith Alder, assistant professor of political science, director of the pre-law program and the coach and faculty advisor for the team.

The participating students included junior Alex Darr of Port Clinton and seniors Fred Blackman of Euclid, Beth Bonanno of Canfield, Kelley Bryan of Kensington, Scott Casto of Uniontown, Chrystal Farmer of North Waterford, Brittani Girton of Newcomerstown, Dustin Hatherill of Alliance, John Highman of Canton, Shawn Hyden of Austintown, Lynsey Lyle of Wellsville, Lisa Marano of Uniontown, Lindsay Molnar of Warren, Mike Reeder of Chagrin Falls, Lisa Sas of Elyria, Pete Ullmann of Germany, Cristina Vidu of Alliance, Mike Wartko of Uniontown , Tom Webb of Brewster and Becky Zink of Alliance.
