Up ‘til Dawn is a philanthropic program new to Mount Union this past fall.  It is a student-led, student-run fundraiser that is hosted by more than 180 campuses nationwide.  Up ‘til Dawn unites students, staff and their local communities with a goal to help the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

According to Brittany Commodore, an event representative for Aslac/St Jude Research Hospital, there are 36 other colleges within Mount Union’s region that partcipated, including Pennsylvania and Michigan. Within that region, Mount Union has raised more money than any other campus has in their first year.

On Friday, Mount Union students ended Up ‘til Dawn with a night full of food, prizes and fun activities such as, Wii games, cornhole, miniature golf, tie-dying t-shirts, bands and more.  Mount Union’s goal was to raise $30,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and at midnight they announced that Mount Union students alone had raised $73,547.54.  This is a phenomenal amount of money for this being Mount Union’s first year in the program.
