Mount Union to Host Annual Run-A-MUC Race

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The 29th annual Run-A-MUC 5K Race will take place during the University of Mount Union’s Alumni Weekend and Homecoming on Saturday, October 13. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. in the lobby of the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex, and the race will begin at 8 a.m.
Pre-registration for alumni and community members is $20 and $25 on the day of the race. The price for Mount Union students is $5. Register by Friday, October 5 in order to receive a T-shirt and a lunch ticket for an all-you-can-eat meal in the Kresge Dining Commons on the day of the race.
Runners will begin at Beeghly Hall and race throughout the streets surrounding the University, finishing at the Mount Union Stadium. The Alliance Police Department will be present throughout the course, and water stations will be located at each mile. Mini Subway sandwiches and fruit will be provided after the race.
A Kid’s Race consisting of one lap around the track will begin immediately after the 5K and is available to children 7 and under. T-shirts will not be available for the Kid’s Race, however pre-registration is necessary to guarantee alternative prizes.
Following the Kid’s Race, there will be a ceremony held at Mount Union Stadium to award the top three overall male and female racers as well as the top two individuals in each age group for the 5K race. Winners need to be present to receive their prize.
Registration forms can be printed online at alumni.mountunion.edu or picked up in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex or the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Checks should be made payable to the University of Mount Union and can be mailed with the registration form to the University at 1972 Clark Ave., Alliance, OH 44601. Mount Union alumni can also register online at alumni.mountunion.edu.
