Mount Union to Host Parents' Day Events on Campus November 13

Mount Union College will host its annual Parents' Day events on Saturday, November 13, and invites all Mount Union College parents to enjoy a variety of events and a day on campus with their student.

From 8:30-11:30 a.m. check-in and ticket pickup will take place in the Main Lounge of the Hover-Price Campus Center (HPCC), during which complimentary breakfast refreshments will be served. Also in the Main Lounge, at 9 a.m. Rosemary Bienz, director of the Academic Support Center, will present 'Parents 100'The Finals Countdown,' a discussion of the role parents can play in helping students stay focused academically through final exams.

Free caricatures will be available from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. in the Main Lounge. Parents can take home a caricature as a memento of the weekend.

Both a tour of the President's Home and a Residence Hall Meet-n-Greet will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. Parents who wish to visit President Ewing's home will be provided with shuttle service to the President's Home and back to the HPCC. Parents attending the Meet-n-Greet will have the opportunity to tour the residence halls and meet resident directors.

A 'Tailgate Party' will be held in the HPCC dining commons from 11:30 a.m. ' 1:15 p.m. Tailgate tickets can be purchased that day, beginning at 9 a.m. in the HPCC. Tickets are $5.75 for adults and $3 for children under twelve. Lunch tickets will not be sold in advance.

The annual Legacy Luncheon, for students and their parents and/or grandparents who are Mount Union graduates, will be held from 11:30 a.m. ' 1:15 p.m. in the Campus Grounds, located in the HPCC. Pictures will be taken at 11 a.m. Reservations for the Luncheon can be made by contacting the Office of Alumni Activities at (330) 823-2030.

The Mount Union vs. Heidelberg football game will began at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Union Stadium. Tickets for the game are $6 and can be ordered by contact the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership at (330) 823-2137. Reservations should include sons and daughters if they plan to sit with the parents during the game. Students have free admission to the game, but they must accompany their parents at registration if they wish to sit with their parents. Tickets can be picked up in the Main Lounge of the HPCC between 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Parents' Day.

After the football game, a post-game reception, with refreshments provided by the Alumni Office, will take place in the Campus Grounds of the HPCC.

The Mount Union bookstore will be open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
