Mount Union to Host Seafair Band

October 13, 2015

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union will host up and coming Cleveland indie band Seafair and a 25-piece string orchestra in concert on Friday, October 30.

The performance will take place at 8:30 p.m. in the Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. Prior to the show, Mount Union alumnus Nick Mock ’15 will open beginning at 8 p.m.

Seafair was formed in late 2012 and is made up of six members who have their own specialties. With the band consisting of a variety of instruments including a violin, cello, drums, guitar and bass lines, the group has a unique makeup that cannot be categorized under any specific genre. Seafair has been named “Best Band” by Scene Magazine and received “Judges Choice” and the “Gold Addy Award” from the Cleveland ADDY awards.

In 2013, the band released two EPs – “Photographs” and “Paintings” – to much acclaim. In 2014, Seafair took its live performances on the road, from New York to Denver. The band will begin recording for its upcoming EP, due spring 2016, in December.

Tickets for the show are $5 in advance, $7 at the door and free for Mount Union students. To purchase tickets, visit
