Mount Union to Host St. Lawrence in First Round of NCAA Football Playoffs

No. 1 ranked University of Mount Union plays St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Football Playoffs Saturday, Nov. 21 at noon at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders are 10-0 overall and one of 25 conference champions to claim an automatic bid as Mount Union won its 24th straight and 27th overall Ohio Athletic Conference title with a 9-0 record.
Mount Union is ranked No. 1 in both the AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) and D3Football.com Top 25 polls while being No. 1 in the NCAA Division III North Region poll which is used for seeding and at-large selections for the championship.
Mount Union has an 86-15 record in NCAA Playoff games and the Raiders have advanced to the Stagg Bowl 18 times since 1993 with a record 11 National Championships.
St. Lawrence is 8-2 overall and the Saints are in the tournament as the champions of the Liberty League.
St. Lawrence is making its fifth ever NCAA Playoff appearance (1976, 1978, 1982, 2010) and are 2-4 in playoff games.
The teams have met one other time and it was in the playoffs as St. Lawrence came to Alliance in a first round matchup in 2010 with the Raiders winning 49-0.
The game will be broadcast LIVE on the radio on 1310AM WDPN and WRMU 91.1 FM. There will be no video or television broadcast of the game.
The winner of this game will take on the winner of a matchup between Albright (Pa.) and Norwich (Vt.) Saturday, November 28 at noon at a location to be announced.
