Mount Union to Participate in Game Day Challenge

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union will participate in recycling initiative “Game Day Challenge” during the Mount Union vs. Baldwin Wallace football game on Saturday afternoon.

The Game Day Recycling Challenge is a national competition for colleges and universities to promote waste reduction at their football games. The competition is run by a partnership of the College and University Recycling Coalition, RecycleMania and Keep America Beautiful.

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, volunteers will be stationed at recycling and trash bins in the stadium, where they will collect and weigh trash and recyclables for the challenge. Trash and recyclables will be collected until the end of the game, which begins at 1:30 p.m.

Winners of the competition will be announced on Nov. 15, America Recycles Day.
