Mount Union to Present Faculty Artist Showcase

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union’s Department of Music will present a faculty artist showcase at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30 in Presser Recital Hall featuring Dr. James Perone and Kathy Reichenberger.

Currently the Margaret Morgan Ramsey Professor in Music, Perone has been a part of the Mount Union faculty since 1994. He has been featured as a clarinet soloist with several symphony orchestras and concert bands, including the Alliance Symphony, Tuscarawas Philharmonic and the Cheektowaga Symphony Orchestra. Perone is also an avid writer, providing more than 110 reviews for the Library Journal and is author of over a dozen books, including The Words and Music of David Bowie.

Director of accompanists and pianist Kathy Reichenberger has been a faculty accompanist at the University since 1995. Reichenberger, a high demand accompanist, has played for various ensembles and professional solo performers. She has served as a staff accompanist at Malone University in Canton, Ohio and Summit Choral Society in Akron, Ohio along with various other locations.

The showcase will feature songs such as Deep Ellum Nights, Sonata for Clarinet and Four Hebraic Pictures.
