Mount Union Wind Ensemble and Concert Band to Present a Spring Band Concert

The Mount Union College Department of Music will present a Spring Band Concert featuring the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band on Thursday, April 20 at 8 p.m. in Rodman Playhouse.
Directing the concert will be Jonathan E. Willis, director of bands. Rebecca Stinson '94 will be the guest conductor.
Willis, whose duties include directing the 'Purple Raider' Marching Band, the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble as well as teaching courses in conducting, instrumental music methods and marching band techniques, came to Mount Union in 2005. He has toured as a trombonist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and performed with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, the Akron Symphony Orchestra, the Top Notes Jazz Band, the Warren Packard Concert Band and the First Class Jazz Orchestra. Willis earned his professional degrees from YoungstownStateUniversity's Dana School of Music.
Stinson, private music instructor of flute, teaches elementary music for West Branch School District. She is the principle flutist and a board member of the Alliance Symphony Orchestra.
The concert will feature a wide variety of works from Gabriel Faur' and Franz Joseph Hadyn to Scott Joplin and George Gershwin.
