Prior to this appointment, Jackson served as the coordinator of multicultural recruitment in the Office of Admission for Mount Union. Jackson, a native of Spencer, Ohio graduated from Black River High School and he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a concentration in management from Mount Union in 2002. While a student at Mount Union, Jackson was a member of the men's varsity basketball team. Jackson received his Master's degree in Administrative Management. Jackson resides in Alliance, Ohio with his wife Erica and their son Richard Jackson Jr. (JR).
