Dr. James Perone

Teaching Area(s): Music

My course on popular music and the Vietnam War came directly out of research that I did on my first sabbatical in fall 2000. My more recent research on the development of British Invasion rock and roll has led directly to my new First Year Seminar, “Beyond the Beatles.”

If you seek to combine your study of music with academic excellence in a broader liberal arts education, then a bachelor of arts in music at Mount Union may be for you.  The flexibility of this curriculum provides for exploration outside of the music classroom, and the program may be pared with an additional major, minor of coursework tailored to your interests and future aspirations.

Whether you dream of being a performer, composer or director, hope to work on the business and promotional end of the industry or have aspirations of exploring a future in music technology, our music curriculum and liberal arts foundation provides the flexibility you need.  And, you’ll be able to fine tune your music skills through numerous performance opportunities while studying the history and theory of the field.
