Music Education Major
By the time you graduate from Mount Union, you will be prepared to teach it all. From general music and orchestra to instrumental and vocal performance, there's no doubt you'll be ready. You will be given many opportunities to perfect the craft of musical teaching including classroom preparation at a nearby school. This is just one of the many opportunities you will have to write original music plans, create a welcoming classroom environment and share your passion of music with the younger generation.
Music education graduates have found success teaching in school districts in Ohio and throughout the country, including Lake local schools, United local schools, Green local school and North Canton city schools. Others are working in higher education at institutions such as the University of Cincinnati.
Students of this music education program have also chosen to pursue graduate study at institutions including the University of Akron and Kent State University.
The music education major is administered by the Department of Music, which also offers programs in music and music performance.
