Dr. James Perone

Teaching Area(s): Music

My course on popular music and the Vietnam War came directly out of research that I did on my first sabbatical in fall 2000. My more recent research on the development of British Invasion rock and roll has led directly to my First Year Seminar, “Beyond the Beatles.”

Hands-On Learning

Students who choose to major in music at the University Mount Union have ample opportunities to showcase their talent outside of the classroom. By getting involved in these extracurricular opportunities and student organizations, you can strengthen your musical abilities and get valuable performance experience, both of which are critical to finding a job after graduation. All majors and minors are encouraged to participate actively in the following extracurricular activities and performance groups.

Student showcases, held on designated Thursdays at 11:15 a.m., give students a chance to perform in front of an audience filled with faculty members, students and other members of the Mount Union community.
